Employer Support

IDHHC works with employers all over Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands to place and support Deaf, DeafBlind and hard of hearing individuals. Our experienced employment case workers work closely with businesses to provide support in adapting the job site to ensure a safe and productive environment, information to employers and staff about Deaf culture, and communication strategies. We are always seeking new businesses interested in providing opportunities for Deaf, DeafBlind and hard of hearing individuals.

• Access to wage subsidies for on –the-job training 

• Information to employers and staff about hearing loss 

• Job coaching and work modification support 

• Technical aids and supports in the workplace (must meet eligibility requirements for funding supports)
