Assistive Technology

Hearing Health Clinic

Sound solutions

Assistive technology plays an important, although often overlooked, role in the lives of people who are Deaf or hard of hearing.

Expert staff are available to assist clients in identifying the information they are missing.  For example, you may be unable to hear the smoke detector at night or are unsure if someone has rung your doorbell. Once we have identified the issue, we are able to make suggestions for the appropriate technology to purchase.

In addition to recommendations, we have a library of equipment that we can loan in order for clients to determine the benefit of an item prior to purchasing it.

ASSISTIVE LISTENING DEVICES INCLUDE:

  • Amplified telephones or in-line amplifiers

  • Portable one-to-one communication devices

  • TV listening systems

  • FM systems

VISUAL / TACTILE ALERTING / SIGNALLING DEVICES INCLUDE:

  • Smoke or fire alarm alerting devices

  • Sound signalers

  • Incoming TTY/telephone call signaling devices

  • Specialized alarm clocks
