Hearing health is critical to our quality of life
For 33 years, Island Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre has provided services and support to Deaf and hard of hearing individuals and their families across Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. From our offices in Victoria and Nanaimo we have full service hearing health clinics with registered Audiologists; employment support from experienced case managers; registered ASL interpreters and captioning services across the province; assistive technology demonstration, loans and sales.
From our Nanaimo and Victoria offices, Island Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center (IDHHC) provides hearing aids and hearing health services for everyone. To provide the highest standard of communication and hearing health support, we employ registered Audiologists and communication and assistive device specialists. Hearing Health Services staff bring in-depth knowledge and expertise to provide client-centered services to support you throughout your journey.
When purchasing hearing aids and technology at IDHHC, you support others in your community to receive hearing aids and assistive technology through the Sound of Change Initiative.

Independent hearing clinics offering hearing aids from all available manufacturers means no pressure sales

Information on funding available through Veterans Affairs, Persons With Disability, WorkBC through ATS

Guidance selecting and purchasing assistive devices, or try before you buy with our loaner program

Free or low cost workshops to learn about hearing loss and communication strategies including Speech Reading.

Barrier free support- low income individuals may qualify for our Sound of Change Initiative, providing free refurbished hearing aids to those who qualify.
